Listed are a list of wedding tips to help with your wedding planning and catering.

  1. Choose the marriage location and the date first as they can be the most difficult to finalise.
  2. When choose your marriage date, start with at least three dates that you would consider.
  3. Choose one or two places you would like to have the ceremony and reception and book them immediately.
  4. Start on the wedding guest list as early as possible, this will then give people enough time to plan for your wedding.
  5. Pick out decorations and flower arrangements at least one month before your wedding.
  6. Book honeymoon travel as early as three or four months ahead, this will allow you the best .
  7. Prepare as much ahead of time as you can, so that you do not have a lot to do at the last minute.
  8. Try to get your future family involved in the decision making process on all things, this will help you to learn to work together on things.
  9. Do not be afraid to ask for help or designate work for others in the wedding party to do.
  10. Wear your shoes a couple of days before your wedding to stretch them.
  11. Consider a Hen & Stag night together.
  12. When hiring a caterer, gather your information and then pick 2 or 3 to speak to and pick the one you are most comfortable with.
  13. Make sure you have emergency needs such as band aids, needle and thread, asiprin, scissors, tape, shoe polish, buttons for your trail.
  14. Guest accommodation is very important so consider block booking well ahead.
  15. Let the groom have some responsibilities and they may surprise you.
  16. Send invitations at least 6 to 8 weeks before the big day.
  17. Have a backup plan for your photos if the weather is wet. Check with local hotels as some make a beautiful place for photos.
  18. Check with your florist to see what flowers are in season when your wedding is to be.
  19. Don't forget to practice with your hair and make-up a week before the wedding so you know.
